How to activate T-pay account

You need to have been employed and received your first salary in order your T-pay portal to be activated.
Can’t you just register on the website?
While initially TSC teachers could self activate by entering the TSC number and setting a strong password, this service has been stopped indefinitely. The only way to register is by visiting TSC offices.
Be sure to carry your original National Identity Card (ID), when you do.
To activate the T-Pay portal for accessing payslips and other services related to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya, follow these steps:
Requirements for activation
- Valid TSC number: Ensure you have an active TSC number.
- Employment: You must be employed by the TSC.
- Registered SIM card: An active registered SIM card is necessary.
- Mwalimu email: You need a registered Mwalimu email that ends with
@mwalimu.tsc.go.ke
. - Registration at TSC office: You must have registered on the T-Pay system at the TSC office.
Steps to activate T-Pay
- Open your preferred web browser: Use a web browser like Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Opera on your PC or mobile device.
- Access the T-Pay portal: Type the URL

- Phone number verification: Enter your phone number and request an OTP (One-Time Password). Input the received OTP to validate.
- Email verification: Enter your Mwalimu email address and request an OTP. Check your email via Outlook, enter the code received, and click on “Validate.”

Changing your T-Pay password
Forgot your password? Don’t worry. You can easily reset it:
Go to the T-Pay login page.
Click on “Forgot Password”.
- Next, you are prompted to enter your TSC number or ID no.
- If the TSC number entered is vaid, you will receive a one time pin (OTP) on your registered phone number
- Enter the 6 digit code you received via mobile
- Enter your new password
- Confirm new password
Your password is then set successfully and you should be able to access your account.
