Things to note about Airtel data transfer:
- Minimum you can share: 3MB per transaction
- Maximum you can share: 200MB per transaction
- Maximum you can share per person per day is 200MB
- You can share data with only 2 people per day, each with a maximum of 200MB
- You can share data with the same person again only after they have depleted the previously shared data.
- Available data bundles for data sharing are the regular Daily/Weekly bundles, Monthly bundles, and Mega Packs
- Validity of transferred data will be the same as the original data. So, if you transfer a monthly data bundle that expires in 2 days, the recipient will only have 2 days, after which the data will expire.
- Service available to both prepaid and postpaid customers
- Shared data bundle is not auto-renewed
- Data sharing PIN is required to share data
Step 1: Change your Data Sharing PIN
- If this is your first time using Airtel Data Share service, you need to change your PIN.
- Your default data-sharing PIN is usually set to 1234. Change it to something you can easily remember.

from your Airtel line - Look for the option Gifting and Sharing. Should be on the next page of the screen.
- Select this option to go to the next page.
- Then choose option 1 to “Change PIN – Default PIN -1234.“
- Enter your new PIN when prompted.

Step 2: Share Data (Data Me2U)
- After changing your PIN, you can proceed to share or gift data.

- Now select Gifting & Sharing option (was number 14)
- Choose Data Me2U
- Then go to Send Me2U from existing allowance
- Enter the Recipient Number to send data to
- Enter Data Allowance MB. This is the amount you wish to transfer.
- Key in your Data Sharing PIN to complete the data transfer.
How to gift data on Airtel Nigeria
Data gifting allows you to buy a data bundle plan for another Airtel user.

- You can buy data for as many people as many times as you wish. No daily restrictions
- Gifted data is not auto-renewed
